Booking an Appointment
Certain imaging services, including CT scans and ultrasound examinations, require a prior appointment and can be arranged by contacting Mittagong Medical Imaging by phone. Many general X-ray examinations (such as chest X-rays) are performed without an appointment; however, some specialised studies may require advance booking.
If you are unsure whether your scan needs to be scheduled, our friendly reception team is happy to assist.
We understand that attending a medical imaging appointment can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our team aims to provide timely appointments and clear preparation instructions to ensure your visit is as smooth and convenient as possible.
What to Bring
To help us process your appointment efficiently, please bring:
- Your doctor’s referral form (required for Medicare and legal purposes)
- Any previous imaging films, scans or reports (if available)
- Your Medicare card
- Pensioner, Health Care or DVA card (if applicable)
- WorkCover details, including claim number and insurer information, if your injury is work-related
Mittagong Medical Imaging accepts all valid imaging referrals.
On Arrival
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for registration and completion of any required forms. Ensure you have your referral and any relevant prior imaging with you.
Billing Information
Mittagong Medical Imaging bulk bills most Medicare-eligible imaging services.
- Pensioner and Health Care Card holders are bulk billed for most eligible services
- Some specialised procedures – including pain management injections, biopsies and certain obstetric ultrasounds – may incur an out-of-pocket gap after the Medicare rebate
- Where applicable, payment of any outstanding balance is required on the day of service
